Top Community Issues – Randall McCallister for Indiana State House, District 34

As your next State Representative, I will stand up for the values that make Indiana strong — faith, freedom, personal responsibility, and common sense. The people of District 34 deserve a leader who listens, understands the real challenges we face, and puts Hoosiers first — not political agendas.

Here’s where I stand on the issues that matter most to our community:

🏪 Defending Small Businesses
Indiana’s economy is built on small businesses, not big government. I’ll push for fewer regulations, lower taxes, and more freedom for small business owners to grow, hire, and thrive.

🏛️ Keep Government in Check
I’ll stand against government overreach that hurts our rural economy, whether it’s from environmental overregulation, zoning abuse, or federal strings attached to local policy. We need local control — not one-size-fits-all mandates.

🛡️ Reducing Crime & Restoring Safety
Our families deserve safe streets and secure neighborhoods. I will back law enforcement, support tougher penalties for violent offenders, and work to remove policies that handcuff our police.

🧠 Improving Mental Health & Fighting Homelessness
Mental health and homelessness are connected — and growing. I will advocate for community-based solutions that address root causes while protecting public spaces and supporting recovery.

💊 Combating Drug Addiction
I’ll support stronger enforcement against drug trafficking, increased access to faith-based and community rehab programs, and resources to break the cycle of addiction that’s hurting Indiana families.

👷‍♂️ Standing Up for Blue-Collar Workers
I will be a voice for the tradesmen, factory workers, mechanics, truck drivers, laborers, and everyday people who power our economy. I know the challenges you face because I’ve lived them — and I’m ready to fight for real solutions, not political talking points.

Here’s what I support:

  • Workforce development and expanded skilled trades training for young adults and career changers

  • Lower taxes and less red tape for working families and small businesses

  • Protection of jobs from outsourcing and harmful regulations

  • Investment in infrastructure and industry that creates good-paying jobs right here in Indiana

Indiana’s strength is built on the backs of working people — and we deserve leaders who never forget that.

🏛️ Supporting Term Limits & Accountability
It’s time for fresh leadership and real accountability in government. I proudly pledge to support term limits to end career politics and restore trust in public service.

🗽 Protecting Hoosier Freedoms
I will always defend free speech, the Second Amendment, and your right to live free from government overreach. I will fight any attempt to bring back lockdowns, forced mandates, or restrictions that violate your rights.

📚 Restoring Control in Education
Parents should make decisions about their children’s education — not the federal government or activist groups. I will fight to return education to state and local control, stand up for school choice, and keep woke ideology out of our classrooms.

🍎 Raise Teacher Pay & Respect the Profession
Indiana's teachers are shaping the next generation, and they deserve to be paid like the professionals they are. I will fight for increased wages for teachers, especially those in underserved areas, and work to ensure education funding is used where it counts — in the classroom, not on bloated bureaucracy.

🏠 Cutting Out-of-Control Property Taxes
Hoosier homeowners are being crushed by rising property taxes. I will work to reduce property taxes and protect families and seniors from being taxed out of their homes.

Property taxes are punishing hardworking Hoosiers. I’ll fight to rein in these rising costs and protect homeowners — because we don’t rent our homes from the government.

🚫 No Additional Toll Roads
Hoosiers already pay enough in taxes — we shouldn’t be taxed again just to drive to work, take our kids to school, or travel across our own state. I strongly oppose any expansion of toll roads in Indiana. Toll roads hurt working families, burden small businesses, and create unnecessary costs in our daily lives.

Instead of adding tolls, we need to:

  • Prioritize smart spending on infrastructure

  • Ensure existing transportation funds are used efficiently

  • Protect our roads without passing the bill to hardworking Hoosiers

🛑 Standing Against the Woke Agenda
Indiana doesn’t need radical social experiments. I will stand strong against woke policies and defend our state’s traditional values, including faith, family, and freedom.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Protecting Parents’ Rights
Parents, not the government, should be the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives. Whether it’s education, healthcare, or discipline, I will fight to ensure that families have the final say — not unelected agencies or political activists.

🛡️ Defending Children
Every child in Indiana deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and stable environment. I’ll work to strengthen protections for children while ensuring our systems prioritize family reunification, accountability, and transparency.

⚖️ Holding the Department of Child Services (DCS) Accountable
The Department of Child Services has failed too many families for too long. I will push for greater oversight, full transparency, and real reform of DCS. We need to hold this agency accountable for its decisions, protect innocent families from overreach, and ensure that children are never left behind due to government failure.

🧭 Conservative Family Values
I will always stand for the traditional values that make Indiana strong — faith, family, and personal responsibility. That means removing harmful ideologies from our schools and protecting children from political agendas that have no place in the classroom or the home.

👮‍♂️ Better Training & Support for Law Enforcement
I back the blue — and I believe in giving them the training, resources, and community support they need to do their jobs effectively and safely. I will support policies that invest in better training, mental health support, and public trust, while also defending officers from political attacks that undermine morale and safety.

📚 Local Control & Community-Based Solutions
Whether in schools or on the streets, I believe the best decisions are made at the local level. I will work to empower communities

🎯 Promoting Responsible Gun Education for Our Youth
Our young people deserve to understand not only their constitutional rights but also the responsibilities that come with them. I support programs that educate youth on the lawful, safe, and respectful use of firearms — whether through community-led instruction, or partnerships with law enforcement and local gun safety organizations.

This kind of education will:

  • Reduce accidental gun violence

  • Promote a healthy respect for firearms

  • Teach discipline, safety, and personal responsibility

We don’t make our communities safer by restricting rights — we make them safer by educating, empowering, and engaging our youth the right way.

🌾 Protecting Farmers & Preserving Farmland
Our farmers are the backbone of Indiana — and they deserve a representative who will stand up for them. I will fight to protect family farms from burdensome regulations, unfair land grabs, and corporate overreach.
No solar farms on productive farmland — we need to preserve our agricultural heritage, not pave it over for outside interests.

🌲 Supporting the Department of Natural Resources (DNR)
Our DNR plays a vital role in managing Indiana’s parks, forests, and wildlife — and they deserve the funding and support needed to do their job effectively. I will work to strengthen the DNR’s ability to protect our public lands, maintain access to outdoor recreation, and preserve our natural environment for generations to come.

🦌 Educating Our Youth on Conservation & Wildlife Protection
We must teach the next generation the importance of respecting nature and being good stewards of the land. I support expanding conservation education programs in schools and communities that focus on:

  • The importance of wildlife management

  • Sustainable hunting and fishing practices

  • Respect for our forests, rivers, and ecosystems

By fostering a love and respect for nature, we not only protect Indiana’s outdoors — we pass on a legacy of responsibility, self-reliance, and appreciation for our natural world.

I’m Randall McCallister — a conservative, a worker, and a proud Hoosier. I’m running to represent the people, not the political class. Let’s bring common sense back to the Statehouse and protect what makes Indiana great.
